Wow, thanks a lot for reviewing this. :) I'm very happy you liked this fic arc in in spite of the shameful SuzaLuluness of it all. And oh your words made me so happy. I'm glad you caught the "living history" thingie, because that was a really important point in my head when I was writing it. Truth is, I'd love to write a big war epic about their childhood but NOT before I manage to read Stage 0, because ack, their childhood canon is probably the best thing in the show. :) Also, I keep hoping season 2 will give me some really nice ideas. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Yeah, Lelouch wants to be Lelouch Vie Britannia, and Zero is also part of who he is. I totally had to come back to this point in the end of the fic, otherwise it would be very incomplete. The crane scene, as I said before, was very difficult, and yes, it totally smells of mirrors. The postwar scenes were much easier to write by far and maybe that shows in the final product. :)
And DON'T STOP WRITING FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE. I LOVE your brain too. XD
